Monthly Meetings
The Blue Ridge Amateur Radio Club (BRARC) meets at the Stoney Mountain Activity Center located on Stoney Mountain Road, near the Henderson County Landfill. Click here for a map to our meetings. Meetings are at 7:30 PM on the first Tuesday of the month. Every amateur radio operator is encouraged to join. Prospective members do not have to be residents of Henderson County and prospective members may already be a member of another club.
The BRARC conducts monthly meetings with informative presentations. The presentations are put on by folks who have particular interests relating to amateur radio and often by persons representing a group within the community, such as the telephone company, the power company, etc. Many members stage programs incorporating their experiences in many diverse areas.

Contesting and Field
Day
BRARC participates in many contests throughout the year, such as Field Day. Field Day is the Big Kahuna of contests. The Blue Ridge Amateur Radio Club sets up their Field Day stations at Fletcher Community Park, Fletcher, NC. A majority of the amateur radio clubs throughout the USA participate in this contest. A point value system is given for the type of station operating during Field Day. For example, points are given for: CW (morse code); phone (single sideband voice); power source of the station (natural - such as solar electric, hydro, wind; battery; or the regular ol grid.); and the number of logged stations contacted. Please note there are additional ways to obtain points. See the ARRL site for more info.
